Job summary

Marlen International, headquartered in Riverside, MO, designs and manufactures advanced food processing equipment. The Controls Engineer will design, program, test, and implement control systems for Marlen products, working with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servos, and networking.

You will collaborate across Engineering, Manufacturing, and Service to ensure reliable equipment and timely delivery. Responsibilities include debugging, commissioning, and start-up activities, with opportunities to travel to

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Controls/Automation or closely related field.
5+ years in controls engineering, automation, or industrial programming.
Experience programming and troubleshooting Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, program, test, and troubleshoot industrial control systems for new and existing equipment.
Develop and maintain PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, and related control programs.
Support electrical and controls design, including high-voltage power distribution and low-voltage control systems.
Perform machine debugging, testing, and start-up activities, including troubleshooting circuits and control logic.
Diagnose equipment and controls issues and implement corrective actions to meet customer requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable equipment on schedule.
Identify risks and apply best practices for PLC programming and controls documentation.
Travel occasionally to support installation, commissioning, and customer requirements.
