Job summary

Engtal is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join a close-knit engineering team in Grand Rapids, MI. You will take projects from concept through commissioning, collaborating with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers on custom automation solutions.

You will design control architectures, program PLCs and HMIs, and validate systems on machines built from scratch, with a focus on safety and reliability. This on-site role offers growth and hands-on challenges.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Controls engineering or related field.
• Hands-on controls engineering experience in machine-building/automation.
• Ability to design and troubleshoot control systems.

Responsibilities

• Design control architectures and select sensors, actuators, PLCs and hardware.
• Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, and control devices.
• Develop control algorithms to meet performance and reliability goals.
• Integrate and validate control systems on custom machines.
• Create documentation and reports detailing designs and test results.
