Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Controls Engineer to support design, programming, and commissioning of automated equipment and systems in Holland, MI. You will collaborate with mechanical engineering, project management, and customers to deliver high-performance automation solutions.

Responsibilities include PLC and HMI programming, system integration, troubleshooting, and creating electrical documentation. Travel 15-25% may be required to support on-site deployments.

Qualifications

• PLC programming from scratch.
• Experience with SCADA/HMI systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics.
• Familiarity with automation and robotics.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop PLC and HMI programs for automated equipment.
• Support system integration with customer equipment and existing production lines.
• Troubleshoot and debug controls systems during testing and commissioning.
• Create and support electrical documentation such as schematics, I/O lists, and wiring diagrams.
• Participate in system testing (FAT/SAT) and startup activities.
• Ensure systems meet customer requirements, safety standards, and performance expectations.
