Job summary

Engtal is seeking an Automation Controls Engineer to lead electrical hardware design and software engineering for automation projects. You will collaborate with the Program Manager to translate concepts into finalized designs, supervise debugging, and develop manuals and training for customers.

Responsibilities include system risk assessments, hardware selection, PLC/HMI development, robot programming, and onsite commissioning.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience preferred.
5+ years of electrical hardware design experience.
Experience with EPLAN P8 or AutoCAD Electrical.
Proficiency in PLCs and HMI development (Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell, or Mitsubishi).
Robot programming experience with FANUC, ABB, or KUKA.

Responsibilities

Participate in system risk and safety assessments.
Select and size hardware components and generate electrical schematics.
Author bills of materials and design panel layouts with heat calculations.
Size and plumb pneumatic systems and develop system hardware architecture.
Write PLC logic and PLC function blocks; develop HMI.
Commission robots, program paths, and onsite startup at customer sites.
Travel approximately 25% for business; interface with machine tools and integrate auxiliary equipment.
Ensure compliance with OSHA and safety standards.
