Job summary

BW Design Group, part of Barry-Wehmiller Design Group, is seeking a Controls Engineer Co‑op for a six‑month term starting January or June 2027. You will work with experienced engineers on automation projects across manufacturing, data centers, and facilities.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an accredited bachelor's degree in a technical field.
• Willing to complete a full‑time, six‑month co‑op starting Jan or Jun 2027.
• Interest in industrial automation, controls engineering, PLC programming, robotics, or data center infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement automation and control system solutions for clients.
• Gain hands-on experience similar to a full‑time Controls Engineer.
• Assist with PLC programming, HMI development, and control panel design.
• Create and update electrical drawings, control narratives, and I/O lists.
• Participate in testing, troubleshooting, installation, start‑up, and commissioning.
