Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing in Pontiac, MI is seeking a Controls Engineer to troubleshoot, maintain, and improve highly automated controls, robotic and welding systems.

You will design and program PLCs, HMIs, robots, and other manufacturing equipment, lead in troubleshooting, and drive continuous improvement, including cycle time reductions and error-proofing, on the 1st shift (6:00 AM–2:30 PM) at our Pontiac plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience with Rockwell software and AB CompactLogix, GuardLogix, PanelView Plus.
• Electrical knowledge: Install hardware and wiring.
• Able to program Panel View (HMI) and PLC.
• Strong problem solving, communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to work 1st shift in Pontiac, MI.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain and improve highly automated controls, robotic and welding systems.
• Design and program PLC, HMI, robots and other manufacturing equipment.
• Lead in troubleshooting of malfunctions and drive continuous improvement (cycle time reduction, error-proofing).
