Job summary

Fives DyAG Corp. is seeking a Controls Engineer to join our Columbus, MS team. You will design, commission, and troubleshoot industrial control systems including PLC and HMI work.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in controls engineering, Siemens PLC/HMI experience with TIA Portal, and comfort with site travel to implement and validate turnkey solutions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in Controls Engineering/PLC/HMI programming.
• Siemens PLC/HMI programming experience required.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Promise-E or ePlan is a plus.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites.
• Ability to design to customer build specs and standards.

Responsibilities

• Create and commission industrial controls systems, PLC software, and HMI screens.
• Develop PLC/HMI code, install, debug on site, and commission complete systems.
• Program peripheral devices and coordinate machine debugging and validation.
• Ensure designs meet DyAG build specifications and industry standards.
• Travel to customer sites for installation and startup.

Controls Engineer
Fives DyAG Corp. is looking for a Controls Engineer to join our team based out of our Columbus, MS area.
Fives DyAG's engineers work in a variety of environments and locations. The role requires strong technical knowledge, sound experience and people-skills, to effectively solve issues as they arise.
Job Description:

• Creating and commissioning industrial controls systems, PLC software design, and HMI screens, for different industries and environments.
• Responsible for PLC/HMI code development, code installation, debug on job site, and commissioning of the complete system.
• Conducting the peripheral device programming, machine PLC programming, coordinate the machine debug, power-up, and machine validation with build and electrical teams.
• Ensure that systems are designed and programmed to customer and/or DyAG build specifications using standard techniques and approaches.
• Travel to customer sites for installation and startup of systems.

Skills/Experience Required:

• 2+ years of Controls Engineering/PLC/HMI programming experience
• 2+ years of Siemens PLC and HMI programming experience. Must be strong with TIA Portal.
• Other PLC platforms are helpful as well such as Allen Bradley, Omron, Mitsubishi, Client, etc.
• Experience with hardware design using AutoCAD, Promise-E or ePlan is a plus.
• The ability to program/write code/ladder logic from scratch
• Prior experience with automotive manufacturing integration and commissioning.
• Prior experience programming within customer-defined standards and templates
• Proficient with a variety of field bus networks including but not limited to DeviceNet, Ethernet I/P, Profibus, ProfiNet, etc. a plus.

Education:
AS or BS in Engineering. Ideally, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineer or similar. Equivalent years of experience can be substituted for a degree.
