Job summary

Fives DyAG Corp. in Wixom, MI is seeking a Controls Engineer to join our team. You will design, commission, and troubleshoot industrial control systems, including PLC and HMI software, for diverse industries. Travel to customer sites is required to support installation and start-up.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of controls/PLC/HMI programming experience, familiarity with Rockwell/AB and Siemens platforms, and hands-on CAD tools. A BS in Engineering is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Controls Engineering/PLC/HMI programming experience.
• Experience with Rockwell Allen Bradley (Controllogix/RSLogix/Studio 5000) or Siemens Step 7 (TIA Portal/WinCC).
• Other PLC platforms (Omron, Mitsubishi, GE) helpful.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Promise-E or ePlan a plus.
• Able to program/ladder logic from scratch.
• Experience in automotive manufacturing integration and commissioning.
• Familiar with devices: DeviceNet, Ethernet IP, Profibus/Profinet.

Responsibilities

• Create and commission industrial controls systems, PLC software and HMI screens.
• Develop PLC/HMI code, install, debug on site and commission complete systems.
• Program peripheral devices, coordinate machine debug and start-up with build/electrical teams.
• Ensure designs meet customer and DyAG specifications using standard techniques.
• Travel to customer sites for installation and startup.

Position Summary
Controls Engineer Fives DyAG Corp. is looking for a Controls Engineer to join our team based out of our Wixom, MI office. This is a full-time direct hire position. Fives DyAG's engineers work in a variety of environments and locations. The role requires strong technical knowledge, sound experience and people-skills, to effectively solve issues as they arise. Job Description:

• Creating and commissioning industrial controls systems, PLC software design, and HMI screens, for different industries and environments.
• Responsible for PLC/HMI code development, code installation, debug on job site, and commissioning of the complete system.
• Conducting the peripheral device programming, machine PLC programming, coordinate the machine debug, power-up, and machine validation with build and electrical teams.
• Ensure that systems are designed and programmed to customer and/or DyAG build specifications using standard techniques and approaches.
• Travel to customer sites for installation and startup of systems.

Skills/Experience Required:

• 2+ years of Controls Engineering/PLC/HMI programming experience
• 2+ years of Rockwell Allen Bradley (Controllogix OR RSLogix OR Studio 5000) or Siemens Step 7 (TIA Portal, WinCC) PLC programming experience.
• Other PLC platforms are helpful as well such as Omron, Mitsubishi, GE, etc.
• Experience with hardware design using AutoCAD, Promise-E or ePlan is a plus.
• The ability to program/write code/ladder logic from scratch
• Prior experience with automotive manufacturing integration and commissioning.
• Prior experience programming within customer-defined standards and templates
• Proficient with a variety of field bus networks including but not limited to DeviceNet, Ethernet I/P, Profibus, ProfiNet, etc. a plus.

Education: AS or BS in Engineering. Ideally, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineer or similar. Equivalent years of experience can be substituted for a degree.
