Job summary

Fives DyAG Corp. is seeking a Controls Engineer in the Columbus, MS area to design, commission, and troubleshoot industrial control systems. You will develop PLC/HMI software, perform on-site debugging, and ensure systems meet customer specifications while collaborating with electrical and build teams.

The role requires 2+ years in controls engineering with Siemens S7/TIA Portal expertise, ladder logic skills, and the ability to travel to customer sites for startup and commissioning.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Controls Engineering/PLC/HMI programming experience.
• Experience with Siemens PLC and HMI programming using TI Portal.
• Experience with AutoCAD, PROMISE-E or ePlan is a plus.
• Ability to write ladder logic from scratch and program embedded controls.
• Experience with automotive manufacturing integration and commissioning.
• Familiarity with field bus networks such as DeviceNet, Ethernet IP, Profibus/Profinet.

Responsibilities

• Create and commission industrial controls systems, PLC software, and HMI screens.
• Develop PLC/HMI code, install, debug on site, and commission the complete system.
• Coordinate machine debug, power-up, and validation with build and electrical teams.
• Ensure designs follow customer and DyAG specifications using standard approaches.

Position Summary

Controls Engineer Fives DyAG Corp. is looking for a Controls Engineer to join our team based out of our Columbus, MS area. Fives DyAG's engineers work in a variety of environments and locations. The role requires strong technical knowledge, sound experience and people-skills, to effectively solve issues as they arise.

Job Description:

• Creating and commissioning industrial controls systems, PLC software design, and HMI screens, for different industries and environments.
• Responsible for PLC/HMI code development, code installation, debug on job site, and commissioning of the complete system.
• Conducting the peripheral device programming, machine PLC programming, coordinate the machine debug, power-up, and machine validation with build and electrical teams.
• Ensure that systems are designed and programmed to customer and/or DyAG build specifications using standard techniques and approaches.
• Travel to customer sites for installation and startup of systems.

Skills/Experience Required:

• 2+ years of Controls Engineering/PLC/HMI programming experience
• 2+ years of Siemens PLC and HMI programming experience. Must be strong with TIA Portal.
• Other PLC platforms are helpful as well such as Allen Bradley, Omron, Mitsubishi, Client, etc.
• Experience with hardware design using AutoCAD, Promise-E or ePlan is a plus.
• The ability to program/write code/ladder logic from scratch
• Prior experience with automotive manufacturing integration and commissioning.
• Prior experience programming within customer-defined standards and templates
• Proficient with a variety of field bus networks including but not limited to DeviceNet, Ethernet I/P, Profibus, ProfiNet, etc. a plus.

Education: AS or BS in Engineering. Ideally, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineer or similar. Equivalent years of experience can be substituted for a degree.
