Job summary

eagle Controls seeks a System Design Engineer to join our Controls team. The position, based in Charlotte, NC with flexibility, focuses on designing and commissioning building automation systems across various markets.

A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience is preferred, with strong CAD and configuration software skills. Responsibilities include hardware selection, software development, documentation, and ensuring safety standards while coordinating with subcontractors.

  • Proficiency in building automation system configuration software.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and configuring automation systems by selecting hardware, developing software, and creating drawings and documentation.
  • Managing material procurement, tracking, and factory-mounting processes to align with project schedules.
  • Loading, commissioning, and validating system functionality while troubleshooting issues with subcontractors and other trades.
  • Documenting field changes, updating as-built drawings and software, and preparing system operation manuals.
  • Providing project updates to management and customers while ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Conducting site-specific training for owners/operators and completing required administrative paperwork.

eagle Controls is seeking qualified professionals to join our Controls team. eagle Controls uses the most advanced, user-friendly automation systems in the market. eagle designs, builds, programs and commissions building automation system projects for new or existing construction across a variety of markets.

IMI’s acquisition of eagle Controls in 2018 helped complete our unique offering of beginning-to-end mechanical system delivery. eagle Controls is headquartered in Chesterfield, MO and has offices in Granite City, IL, Nashville, TN, and Charlotte, NC. We are currently looking for a System Design Engineer to join our Controls team. The location for this position is in Charlotte, NC but is flexible, depending on project needs and assignments. Our ideal candidate for a System Design Engineer is someone who has 3 years of experience and has a focus on continuous learning and development.

Primary responsibilities for eagle’s System Design Engineerinclude:
  • Designing and configuring automation systems by selecting hardware, developing software, and creating necessary drawings and documentation.
  • Managing material procurement, tracking, and factory-mounting processes to align with project schedules.
  • Loading, commissioning, and validating system functionality while troubleshooting issues with subcontractors and other trades.
  • Documenting field changes, updating as-built drawings and software, and prepare system operation manuals.
  • Providing project updates to management and customers while ensuring compliance with safety standards.

  • Advanced computer skills, including expertise in computer-aided drafting tools.
