Job summary

Iconmech in Chesterfield is seeking a qualified System Design Engineer to join our team. The position is flexible in location based on project needs. This role requires a candidate with at least three years of experience, focusing on the design and configuration of automation systems.

Qualifications

  • At least three years of hands-on experience in installing and/or commissioning automation systems.
  • Proficiency in building automation system configuration software.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Proven technical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
  • Advanced computer skills, including expertise in computer-aided drafting tools.

Responsibilities

  • Design and configure automation systems, selecting hardware and developing software.
  • Manage material procurement, tracking, and factory-mounting processes.
  • Load, commission, and validate system functionality while troubleshooting issues.
  • Document field changes and prepare system operation manuals.
  • Provide project updates to management and customers, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Conduct site-specific training for owners/operators.

eagle Controls is seeking qualified professionals to join our Controls team. eagle Controls uses the most advanced, user-friendly automation systems in the market. eagle designs, builds, programs and commissions building automation system projects for new or existing construction across a variety of markets.

We are currently looking for a System Design Engineer to join our Controls team. This location for this position is flexible and can be based anywhere, depending on project needs and assignments. Our ideal candidate for a System Design Engineer is someone who has 3 years of experience and has a focus on continuous learning and development.

Primary responsibilities for eagle’s System Design Engineer include:
  • Designing and configuring automation systems by selecting hardware, developing software, and creating necessary drawings and documentation.
  • Managing material procurement, tracking, and factory-mounting processes to align with project schedules.
  • Loading, commissioning, and validating system functionality while troubleshooting issues with subcontractors and other trades.
  • Documenting field changes, updating as-built drawings and software, and prepare system operation manuals.
  • Providing project updates to management and customers while ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Conducting site-specific training for owners/operators and complete required administrative paperwork.
