Job summary

The Fountain Group in Lenexa, KS is seeking a Controls Automation Engineer to maintain Rockwell PLCs (ControlLogix, MicroLogix) and configure HMI/SCADA systems. You will support project lifecycles from concept through startup, and work closely with process engineers to optimize safety and throughput.

Responsibilities include diagnosing faults, creating documentation, and providing on-call, on-site support while mentoring technicians and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Control/Automation Engineering or closely related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in industrial controls within a manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency with Rockwell/Allen Bradley PLCs and Studio 5000/RSLogix 5000 programming.
• Experience configuring HMI/SCADA systems and industrial networking knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Maintain PLC programs for Rockwell Automation platforms (ControlLogix, MicroLogix).
• Troubleshoot HMI/SCADA systems (FactoryTalk View SE/ME, Ignition) to support production.
• Support full automation project lifecycle from concept through startup and handover.
• Diagnose control faults and electrical issues to minimize downtime.
• Develop and maintain schematics, P&IDs, and control narratives.
• Collaborate with process engineers to optimize throughput, quality, and safety.
• Perform audits and implement preventative maintenance actions.
• Provide on-call and on-site support; train technicians on controls operation.
