Energy Jobline ZR in Downers Grove, IL is seeking a skilled technician to install, configure, and troubleshoot automation systems on 2nd or 3rd shift. You will work with PLCs, servo drives, and HMI interfaces, while following safety procedures and lockout/tagout protocols.

The role involves preventive maintenance on lasers, conveyors, and packaging equipment, with overtime opportunities after 40 hours and relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Demonstrated experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and servo systems.
• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining packaging equipment in a manufacturing setting.
• Thorough understanding of manufacturing safety procedures (lockout/tagout, confined spaces, PPE).
• Proficient with electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and troubleshoot photo eyes, proximity switches, limit switches, PLC I/O modules, and associated control wiring.
• Provide troubleshooting for analog/digital controls with 480V 3-phase power, motors, VFDs, servo drives, and soft starts.
• Maintain and troubleshoot position feedback devices such as encoders and load cells.
• Program and troubleshoot PLC and HMI interfaces.
• Modify PLC control logic and ladder logic as needed.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose HMI/graphic interfaces and communication protocols (Profibus, serial, industrial Ethernet).
• Diagnose equipment using electrical schematics and perform preventive maintenance on Laser Guided Vehicles, conveyors, and production equipment.
