Job summary

Daikin Applied Ltd. in Maple Grove, MN seeks a Controls Application Engineer to drive the design and sale of advanced building automation and energy-efficient HVAC control solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
• 4-6+ years in commercial HVAC, energy, or related field.
• Knowledge of procurement methods and customized solutions to close sales.
• Experience with Tridium Niagara-based or similar systems and BACnet IP.
• Experience with building automation system architecture (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Coach and train sales force to use consultative selling in controls and building automation.
• Assist in strategic business planning to meet district sales quota.

• Work with marketing to increase participation and publications.

• Maintain partnerships with subcontractors and reps to achieve sales objectives.
• Create value propositions for Daikin Applied services with energy savings calculations.
• Support risk mitigation and pre-proposal reviews.
• Promote Daikin Applied as an environmentally responsible manufacturer.

Your Responsibilities:

• Coach, mentor, and train Daikin’s service and solutions sales force to use consultative selling techniques that drive growth and total solutions value to the customer in controls and building automation solutions
• Assist in development of strategic business plan to meet district sales quota, including closing measures, timelines, and necessary resources to achieve plan
• Assist in development and implementation of sales strategies to target, qualify, and secure prospects for new energy efficient HVAC systems and turnkey installations for building owners
• Identifyfinancially viable business opportunities and execute sales strategies to win Integrated Service Solutions
• Prepare and communicate pipeline reports, sales activity, and business plans to achieve sales goals
• Partner with controls and energy engineering groups to analyze and evaluate operating costs for qualified potential opportunities
• Assist with onsite due diligence or building surveys as required for qualified service solution opportunities to further qualify or gather data required for the sales process
• Coordinate the development interface with project management and operations team to assure customer satisfaction
• Identify, participate, and drive the Daikin brandat regional marketing events such as trade shows and networking events.
• Workclosely with marketing to leverage resources and seek additional participation such as speaker events and publishing opportunities
• Strong collaboration with other business and functional leaders within Daikin including Regional and District Managers, Sales and Application Engineers, Energy Engineers, and Project Managers
• Maintain rapport and partnerships with internal and external business partners, including Subcontractors, Manufacturer’s Reps, Equipment Sales Manager, National Accounts team, to ensure sales objectives are communicated and achieved
• Create customer value propositions for Daikin Applied services with energy saving calculations, financial paybacks, financing options, maintenance savings, etc.
• Participate in risk mitigation process and pre-proposal project reviews
• PromoteDaikin Applied as a Green and Environmentally Responsible Manufacturer

Your Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree (engineering preferred) or equivalent work experience
• 4-6+ years of experience in commercial HVAC, energy, or related field
• Strong technical knowledge of procurement methods, contracting options, providing our customers with customized solutions to assist in closing sales
• Experience with Tridium Niagara based or similar Open Protocol Systems and Building Automation System Architecture (preferred)
• Facility Management experience (preferred)
• Knowledge of BACnet IP protocol (preferred)
• Programming of HVAC sequence of operations (preferred)

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from$74,200 - $124,300. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
