Job description

We are a fast-growing premium spirits brand with annual volumes exceeding 1 million 9L cases, operating at the intersection of innovation, craftsmanship, and global distribution. With a strong presence across key markets, we are scaling our finance function to support continued expansion and operational excellence.

The Role

We are seeking a commercially astute and operationally hands‑on Financial Controller to lead the core finance function. This is a critical role responsible for financial control, reporting, and business partnering across manufacturing and supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience from within the alcoholic beverages industry, combined with strong systems expertise (NetSuite) and a proven track record in manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and manage the monthly close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Prepare and review management accounts, variance analysis, and board reporting packs
  • Ensure robust financial controls, compliance, and audit readiness
  • Lead statutory reporting and liaise with external auditors
Manufacturing & Operations Finance
  • Partner closely with production and supply chain teams to drive cost efficiency
  • Oversee inventory accounting, standard costing, and cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis
  • Monitor production variances, yield, and wastage, providing actionable insights
  • Support CAPEX planning and investment decisions within manufacturing
Systems & Process Improvement
  • Own and optimise the use of NetSuite ERP across the finance function
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and scalability within finance operations
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across financial systems
Business Partnering
  • Act as a key finance partner to commercial, operations, and leadership teams
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes
  • Provide financial insight to support strategic decision‑making
  • Manage and develop a high‑performing finance team
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration
Candidate Profile
  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller (or similar senior finance role)
  • MUST have prior experience within an alcoholic drinks / beverage company
  • Strong background in manufacturing finance and cost accounting
  • Hands‑on experience with NetSuite ERP
Skills & Attributes
