Job summary

Sunstall Inc. is seeking a hands-on Controller/Sr. Accounting Manager in Longmont, CO to lead the accounting function across multiple entities and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.

The role reports to the CFO and oversees a small team, including a Senior Accountant and accounts payable staff, with interface to external auditors. The successful candidate will bring strong accounting fundamentals, ownership of the close process, and leadership to strengthen processes as the organization

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with ownership of a complete month-end close.
• Experience managing accounting across multiple entities, including intercompany accounting and consolidations.
• Construction industry accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with WIP accounting strongly preferred.
• Experience working in Sage Intacct preferred.
• Previous audit experience is a strong plus.
• Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations or growing multi-entity organizations is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to work hands-on while also providing leadership and direction to an accounting team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to financial accuracy.
• Ability to identify issues, take ownership and drive work through completion.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the complete month-end and year-end close across multiple entities.
• Maintain understanding of the general ledger; ensure transactions, reconciliations and financial statements are complete and accurate.
• Manage multi-entity accounting including intercompany transactions and consolidations.
• Oversee construction-related accounting and other industry-specific requirements.
• Oversee treasury, daily bank activity and cashflow.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries and supporting schedules; resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain accounting controls, processes and documentation for scalable operations.
• Provide hands-on leadership and mentoring to the accounting team.
• Establish clear expectations and accountability for accuracy, timeliness and attention to detail.
