Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Controller (Remote Eligible) to lead the accounting function for a multi-entity healthcare organization. You will drive GAAP-compliant close processes, consolidate financials, and report to executive leadership.

In this hands-on leadership role, you will strengthen accounting policies, controls, and cash forecasting while partnering with lenders, auditors, and tax advisors to enable controlled growth in a regulated healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
• 12+ years of accounting/finance experience, with 3–5 years as Controller or Assistant Controller.
• Healthcare or related industry experience (pharmacy/340B) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full financial close process for multiple entities, ensuring GAAP compliance.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements and executive-level reports.
• Oversee AP, AR, and payroll accounting.
• Establish and improve accounting policies and internal controls.
• Manage daily cash positioning and liquidity forecasting.
• Primary contact for lenders; manage covenants and compliance.
• Lead the external audit process and coordinate tax compliance activities.

For our client, we are seeking a Controller (Remote Eligible) to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space.

This role will oversee the accounting function for a multi-entity healthcare organization, with a strong emphasis on financial close, reporting, compliance, and controls.

The Controller will partner closely with executive leadership, lenders, auditors, and tax advisors to ensure accurate financial operations and sound governance.

This is a hands-on leadership position suited for someone who can strengthen accounting processes while supporting growth in a regulated healthcare environment.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $190,000 – $230,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead the full financial close process for multiple entities, ensuring GAAP compliance
• Prepare consolidated financial statements and executive-level reports
• Oversee core accounting functions including AP, AR, and payroll accounting
• Establish and improve accounting policies and internal controls
• Manage daily cash positioning and liquidity forecasting
• Serve as the primary contact for lenders and manage compliance with financial covenants
• Lead the external audit process and coordinate tax compliance activities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required
• MBA, MHA, or an advanced degree preferred
• 12+ years of experience in accounting and finance, including 3–5 years as a Controller or Assistant Controller
• Experience in a PE-backed company preferred
• Background in healthcare or a related industry, especially pharmacy and 340B accounting
• Expertise in GAAP and technical accounting standards, including ASC 842 and ASC 606
• Proficiency with ERP systems such as NetSuite or Oracle; advanced Excel skills
