The successful candidate will oversee trust accounting, client invoicing, AP/AR, year-end coordination, and collaborate with outside accounting professionals

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
• 7+ years of accounting and financial operations experience preferred.
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience required.
• Experience with payroll administration required.
• Advanced Excel skills required.
• Strong financial judgment and discretion with confidential information.
• Professional services experience preferred.
• Trust accounting experience is highly preferred.
• Experience with legal accounting software is a plus.

Responsibilities

Job description

An established professional services organization is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead accounting and financial operations. This opportunity arises from a planned retirement, allowing for a structured transition period and knowledge transfer from the departing financial leader.

This is a true Controller position focused on accounting leadership, financial operations, compliance, reporting, payroll administration, banking relationships, and day-to-day financial management. The role is not designed as a CFO-level strategic finance position.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary of $140,000–$180,000
