Job summary

CooperDouglas is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead core accounting operations, guide a developing team, and partner with senior management. This high-visibility role focuses on accurate monthly closes, balance sheet integrity, and cash-flow optimization in a hybrid Escondido, CA environment.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of accounting, 2+ years in leadership, and strong US GAAP and ERP experience, with a manufacturing/software or public-company background preferred.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience including 2+ years in a supervisory role.
• Experience in manufacturing, software/SaaS, or public company environments preferred; startup high-growth is a plus.
• Strong command of US GAAP, advanced Excel, hands-on ERP experience, and internal controls (SOX) familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close and financial reporting under US GAAP.
• Own balance sheet integrity with thorough reconciliations and schedules.
• Oversee billing, AR, collections, and working with cross-functional teams to maintain cash flow.
