Job summary

Cobalt Service Partners, LLC is seeking a Controller to lead accounting operations for a single operating company at multiple U.S. locations. You will manage close, payroll, project revenue recognition under ASC 606, job costing, and financial analysis to inform leadership decisions.

The role emphasizes GAAP discipline, ERP system experience, and the ability to drive maturity in financial processes. In-person, multiple U.S. locations; competitive base salary with bonus and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Technical accounting experience, via public accounting, audit/assurance, or complex operational accounting.
• Strong GAAP knowledge including ASC 606, PoC, and WIP accounting.
• Experience with ERP/multi-entity environments; learning new systems.
• Fluency with payroll and accounting tools (e.g., ADP-class payroll).
• Strong Excel and data-modeling skills (lookups, pivot tables).
• Self-starting, organized, and able to bring structure to ambiguity.
• Clear written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Close & reporting: run monthly close and improve speed/accuracy.
• Project revenue: manage revenue recognition (ASC 606) for projects and inventory.
• Job costing: own margin visibility and partner with operations.
• Analysis & forecasting: prepare EBITDA, cash flow analyses and forecasts.
• Accounting maturity: move from cash to accrual where applicable.
• Transactional finance: supervise payroll, AR, AP, expenses.
• GAAP discipline: reinforce GAAP across accounting function.
