Job summary

UHY Advisors in Trevose, PA seeks a Controller with deep accounting expertise and healthcare practice experience to lead the financial close, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic analysis. You will translate complex data into actionable insights for physicians and executives, while guiding a Finance team through transformation and growth.

The role requires strong presentation skills, partnership with clinical leadership, and a track record of building robust internal controls and process

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Healthcare or physician practice experience strongly preferred.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
• Proven experience supervising, mentoring, and developing finance professionals.
• Exceptional written, verbal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to present financial information and strategic recommendations to executives and non-financial stakeholders.
• Strong critical-thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Adaptable to ambiguity and organizational change; strong business acumen.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes in accordance with GAAP.
• Prepare and present financial statements, KPIs, variance analyses, and other financial information to physicians, boards, committees, and executive leadership.
• Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes.
• Perform financial modeling, pro forma analysis, and ad hoc analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, GAAP, and SOX-related requirements.
• Oversee tax compliance, capital requisitions, insurance coverage, and drug inventory controls.
• Serve as the financial liaison between the practice and external healthcare partners.
• Partner with the Executive Director and operational leadership on strategic and financial initiatives.
• Lead financial activities throughout the organization's ongoing transformation and consolidation.
• Build strong relationships with physicians and practice leaders while serving as a trusted financial advisor.
• Lead, develop, mentor, and support finance staff.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, financial efficiency, and organizational growth.
• Support executive leadership with financial strategy and decision-making.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting expertise, healthcare or physician practice experience, and exceptional communication and presentation skills. The successful candidate will have proven experience partnering with physicians and healthcare executives and translating complex financial information into clear, actionable insights.

This is a fully onsite, direct-hire position in Trevose, PA.
