Job summary

RG Barry Brands is seeking a seasoned Controller to lead all accounting and financial operations in Columbus, OH. The role oversees AP, AR, audits, risk management, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management, while driving process improvements and AI-enabled reporting.

The ideal candidate will have deep GAAP knowledge, CPA certification, 15+ years of experience, and strong leadership to build a high-performing accounting team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration with an accounting major or equivalent.
• CPA certification and public accounting experience; MBA a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger, accounting operations, and monthly/quarterly/year-end close with UK team liaison.
• Ensure GAAP/IFRS compliance across activities, including revenue recognition and leases.
• Lead the audit process and coordinate with external auditors for readiness.
• Establish and maintain internal controls over financial reporting (JSOX compliant).
• Develop accounting policies to support growth and scalability; partner with FP&A and leadership on budgeting and forecasting.
• Manage tax accounting with internal/external advisors; oversee cash, treasury, and working capital reporting.
• Lead corporate accounting team, including hiring, performance management, and development.
• Support due diligence for acquisitions and post-acquisition integration of accounting systems.
