Job summary

Community Health of Central Washington is seeking a seasoned Controller to lead the accounting and finance teams in Yakima. The Controller will oversee financial reporting, accounting systems, budgeting, internal controls, payroll, accounts payable, grant accounting, and regulatory compliance for a nonprofit healthcare organization.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in Accounting (Master’s with CPA preferred), with 6 years of progressive accounting experience including 2 years in supervision;

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
• 6 years of progressive related experience with 2 years supervisory responsibilities required.
• Master’s degree with CPA preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial reporting and accounting systems for CHCW.
• Lead budgeting, internal controls, payroll, accounts payable, grant accounting, and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and support external audits and tax compliance.

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Controller to lead Community Health of Central Washington’s accounting and financial teams. The Controller plays a critical role to ensure the financial integrity, efficiency, and sustainability of the organization while providing meaningful financial insight to support organizational leadership and strategic decision-making. This is a key position responsible for overseeing financial reporting, accounting systems, budgeting, internal controls, payroll, accounts payable, grant accounting, and regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates are committed to financial accuracy, accountability and integrity, and continuous improvement. We are looking for strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills in addition to a comprehensive knowledge of GAAP, financial management, and a solid understanding of nonprofit, FQHC accounting and financial reporting requirements. Bring your experience with internal controls, external audits, and tax compliance to CHCW!

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
• Master’s degree with CPA is preferred
• 6 years of progressive related experience and/or training including 2 years of supervisor responsibilities are required
• Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
• Current driver’s license and auto insurance are required

$105,456.00 - $145,059.20 annually
