Job summary

LHH is partnering with an established organization in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida to identify an experienced Controller to lead its accounting and financial reporting function. This is a high-visibility leadership role reporting directly to the CFO and supervising a team of five accounting professionals.

The Controller will manage full-cycle accounting, month-end and year-end close, budgeting, audit coordination, and accounting across multiple entities and funds, while supporting a system

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Strong full-cycle accounting and general ledger experience.
• Ownership of month-end/year-end close and financial reporting.
• Previous accounting management experience required.
• Multi-entity accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and reconciliation experience.
• Experience coordinating external audits.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations and general ledger activities.
• Own month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and oversee financial statements and management reporting.
• Lead annual budgeting and budget-to-actual/variance analysis.
• Coordinate annual independent audits and work directly with external auditors.
• Manage accounting and reporting across multiple entities, funds, and/or trusts.
• Oversee bank and investment account reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate fixed asset and depreciation records.
• Support treasury activities, including ACH and wire transactions.
• Strengthen accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting procedures.
• Support accounting system implementation and process improvements.
• Prepare financial information for executive leadership, boards, and committees.
• Lead, train, and develop a team of five accounting professionals.

LHH is partnering with an established organization in Palm Beach Gardens to identify an experienced Controller to lead its accounting and financial reporting function.

This is a highly visible leadership opportunity reporting directly to the CFO and overseeing a team of five accounting professionals. The Controller will have responsibility for full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, month-end and year-end close, budgeting, audit coordination, and accounting across multiple entities and funds.

The organization is also undergoing an accounting system implementation, making this an excellent opportunity for a systems-savvy accounting leader who enjoys improving processes and strengthening financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Previous accounting management experience required
• Multi-entity accounting experience strongly preferred
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and reconciliation experience
• Experience coordinating external audits
• Strong Excel and accounting systems skills
• ERP/accounting system implementation experience is a plus
• Sage 50 and/or Sage Intacct experience is a plus
• Fund, trust, nonprofit, healthcare, education, financial services, or other complex accounting experience is a plus
