Job summary

FPC of Wake Forest is seeking a Controller for a fast-growing manufacturing client. You will develop and refine cost accounting for materials, labor, and overhead, and analyze WIP and production activity to identify discrepancies and cost variances.

The role emphasizes partnering with Operations to align costing with real-world processes and drive profitability. Candidates should have 5+ years in accounting/finance, a BS in accounting or related field, hands-on ERP/Accounting software

Qualifications

• BS in Accounting or related field is required.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Hands-on experience with ERP and Accounting software packages.
• Advanced Excel/database skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and refine cost accounting processes for materials, labor, and overhead.
• Perform analysis of WIP and production activity to identify discrepancies and variances.
• Investigate cost drivers and support improved visibility to cost drivers and profitability.
• Partner with Operations to understand real-world processes and align appropriate costing approaches.
• Perform monthly close activities (journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals).

So, what will you be doing as Controller?

• Develop, test, and refine cost accounting processes for materials, labor, and overhead
• Perform analysis of WIP and production activity to identify discrepancies and variances
• Investigate cost drivers and support improved visibility to cost drivers and profitability
• Partner with Operations to understand real-world processes and align appropriate costing approaches
• Perform monthly close activities (journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals)

What you will need to be successful:

• BS in Accounting, Business Administration, or another related field
• 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance
• Hands-on experience with ERP and Accounting software packages
• Advanced database skills (Excel)
• Proven ability to create and implement process

Things considered a plus:

• Experience in a manufacturing environment (fabrication)
• NetSuite
