Job summary

The Bachrach Group is seeking an experienced Controller for a manufacturing environment in the Dayton area. The role requires a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, 7+ years in accounting/finance, and at least 3 years in a leadership role such as Controller or Finance Manager.

Strong preference for CPA/CMA and SAP ERP experience; international exposure is a plus. You will lead budgeting, forecasting, close processes, and financial reporting while driving lean cost controls and KPI improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s or MBA preferred.
• CPA or CMA certification strongly preferred.
• 7+ years of accounting and finance experience.
• 5 years in manufacturing accounting; international experience preferred.
• 3 years in leadership roles such as Controller or Finance Manager.
• Experience with capital equipment and private equity-backed environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning.
• Oversee month- and year-end close, audits, and financial reporting.
• Monitor inventory valuation, controls, and KPI performance.
• Establish financial infrastructure, cost controls, and lean initiatives.
• Drive cost accounting, manufacturing cost variances, scrap, and yield metrics.
• Lead ERP implementations and financial processes to support growth.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's or MBA preferred)
• CPA or CMA certification strongly preferred
• 7+ years of accounting and finance
• 5 years in manufacturing accounting, international experience preferred
• 3 years in a Controller, Assistant Controller, Finance Manager, or similar leadership role
• Ideal industry experience working with electrical or capital equipment
• Investor or private equity backed scale up business environment poised for growth
• Excel and financial modeling skills (BI/reporting tools a plus)
• Ability to establish financial infrastructure, cost controls, and KPI’s for performance metrics
• Proven cost accounting, analyzing manufacturing costs, variances, scrap, and yield metrics to support lean initiatives and margin optimization
• ERP implementation (SAP ideal), and experience establishing financial processes and metrics
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning activities
• Monitor and improve inventory accuracy, valuation, and controls
• Oversee all general accounting functions
• Lead the month, year-end close and audit processes, tax filings and financial reporting
• Strong leadership, analytical and transparent communication skills
