• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA or CMA preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Experience leading accounting teams in a decentralized, multi-site organization.
• Strong technical accounting foundation and advanced financial analysis skills.
• Experience in service-based industries such as landscaping, facilities services, construction, or field-service organizations is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the month-end close process and ensure timely, accurate GAAP-compliant financial reporting.

Katalyst Group are partnering with a multi-site PE-backed landscaping company seeking a Market Controller to oversee the financial operations for a multi-location region, leading the month-end close process and ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. This role partners closely with operational leaders to provide meaningful financial analysis and insights that drive profitability, improve labor and operational efficiency, and support strategic decision-making. The Market Controller will also play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, working capital management, internal controls, audit support, and the continuous improvement of accounting processes and financial systems.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA or CMA preferred) and at least seven years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership of accounting teams in a decentralized, multi-site organization. Success in this role requires a strong technical accounting foundation, advanced financial analysis skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both finance and operational leaders. Experience within service-based industries such as commercial landscaping, facilities services, construction, or other field-service organizations is highly preferred, along with proficiency in ERP systems and a commitment to building efficient, well-controlled financial processes.
