Job description

Landmark Foundation Group ("LFG") is a leading, fast‑growing platform in the foundation repair and waterproofing industry with 20+ locations operating in 15+ states across five operating brands, driven by a mission of customer and employee stewardship.

LFG is seeking a Corporate Controller for a rapidly growing, leading national platform with significant backing. This is a critical leadership role reporting directly to the CFO, with a mandate to stabilize, professionalize, and scale the accounting function across a complex organization. We are seeking a proven leader who has operated in scaled environments through acquisitions, been in the rigor of a private‑equity‑backed environment and is excited by the opportunity to step into a transformational, build‑out situation as the business is in a pivotal stage of growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and transform the centralized accounting function across a multi‑site organization, driving consistency and standardization across brands – building scalable processes aligned with future growth
  • Partner closely with CFO and leadership team to improve financial visibility and reporting accuracy
  • Drive process improvements and internal controls, bringing order to a previously fragmented function
  • Manage auditor, tax, and valuation engagements to budget and deadline
  • Coordinate tax compliance and planning with outside advisors: federal and multi‑state filings, apportionment and nexus, estimates, book‑to‑tax, and deal‑related items
  • Own the consolidated cash position and near‑term cash visibility; monitor working capital and liquidity
  • Oversee banking operations: account structure, signatories, sweeps, and payment controls
  • Lead ERP standardization, consolidation and reporting tooling, and integration of acquired‑company systems, improving the speed and scalability of the close
  • Provide functional leadership to brand‑level accounting teams to drive consistency and clean consolidation
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Controller within a PE‑backed environment
  • Experience operating in a mid‑to‑large scale business ($100MM+ of revenue)
  • Bachelor’s in accounting or finance; CPA strongly preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including controllership; multi‑entity consolidation experience is essential
  • Demonstrated ownership of external audits and coordination of tax with outside advisors
  • Public accounting background (Big Four or national firm; audit and/or transaction services) a strong plus
  • Proficiency with mid‑market ERPs (e.g., Spectrum, Sage, QuickBooks) and consolidation tools (e.g., Prophix)
Preferred Characteristics
  • Hands‑on operator with ability to execute while building for scale
  • Detail‑oriented, with a bias toward fixing issues at the source
  • Thrives in ambiguity and a fast‑moving, acquisitive environment
  • Low ego, high ownership, eager to grow with the platform
