Job summary

CFS in Pittsfield, MA seeks an experienced Controller to oversee the accounting and financial operations of a growing organization. This role serves as a strategic partner to executive leadership, driving reporting accuracy, internal controls, and financial performance.

You will lead month-end close, budgeting, audits, treasury, and tax compliance, while strengthening processes and systems. Collaboration with the parent organization enables scalable growth and continued operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Progressive accounting leadership experience as Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager.
• Strong working knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting.
• Experience leading month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and treasury functions.
• Experience supporting ERP implementations or financial system improvements.
• Proven leadership with strong communication and team development.
• Ability to partner with executive leadership and provide strategic financial insight.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting and financial operations.
• Manage financial reporting and relationships with the parent organization.
• Prepare monthly financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
• Develop and present monthly financial and operational performance reporting.
• Analyze results against budget, forecasts, and prior-period performance.
• Lead the annual budgeting and planning process.
• Coordinate annual financial audits, retirement plan audits, and tax compliance activities.
• Oversee accounts receivable operations and collections efforts.
• Manage accounts payable activities and vendor payment processes.
• Review reconciliations and ensure timely month-end close execution.
• Oversee payroll activities in partnership with an external payroll provider.
• Manage treasury, cash flow, and related reporting requirements.
• Maintain banking relationships and support compliance reporting.
• Strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Support ERP and systems enhancement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and applicable financial reporting requirements.

About The Role
