Job summary

KBW Financial Staffing & Recruiting is partnering with a private equity-backed organization to recruit a seasoned Controller. The role focuses on strengthening accounting operations, systems, processes, and controls across a growing, multi-location company.

The ideal candidate will bring 8+ years in accounting leadership, deep technical expertise, and experience with NetSuite. CPA is preferred and lease, revenue recognition, and audits are key elements of the scope.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Controller or senior accounting leadership experience.
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting background.
• Experience with process improvement, systems implementation, and internal controls.
• NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
• Lease accounting experience highly desirable.
• Revenue recognition / contract accounting experience is a plus.
• Experience supporting audits.
• Multi-location or multi-entity experience preferred.
• International experience is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Drive process and systems improvements, including continued optimization of NetSuite.
• Oversee lease accounting across a large multi-location organization.
• Support revenue recognition and contract accounting.
• Coordinate and support external audits.
• Partner with FP&A and business leaders on financial reporting and analysis.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and accuracy as the company continues to grow.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on, motivated Controller to join a newly evolving finance organization and play a key role in strengthening accounting operations, systems, processes, and controls.

Compensation: $185,000 - $210,000 plus bonus
