Salary: $160,000 - $190,000 per year
Job Details
- Own the general ledger, month-end close, and accurate, timely financial reporting for U.S. and Mexico operations.
- Prepare and review financial statements, bank reconciliations, and 13-week and 52-week cash flow analyses.
- Oversee physical inventory accuracy, partnering with the Mexico team on counts, reconciliations, and issue resolution.
- Review and consolidate cost accounting information prepared by the Mexico team for the CFO and private equity sponsor.
- Lead accounting teams across both countries, including managers responsible for accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Oversee AP, AR, weekly and semi-monthly payroll, commissions, tax filings, and benefits-related accounting.
- Coordinate tax return preparation, support external audits, and assist with liability and workers' compensation insurance renewals.
- Strengthen accounting policies, internal controls, cross-training, and checks and balances.
- Serve as the accounting department's NetSuite administrator and improve the system's effectiveness.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field and at least seven years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong GAAP knowledge and technical accounting skills, including financial reporting, inventory, and cost accounting principles.
- Experience leading accounting teams and working effectively with operations and senior leadership.
- Direct experience with physical inventory in a manufacturing or similarly inventory-intensive business.
- The judgment, communication skills, and drive to lead through change in a lean, fast-moving environment.
- Ability to work onsite in Irvine five days a week and travel to Mexicali for short visits approximately once a month.
- An active CPA, public accounting background, private equity experience, manufacturing experience, NetSuite administration, cross-border accounting experience, and Spanish language skills are all valuable. Candidates do not need to bring every preferred qualification.
