Job Details
What You'll Do
  • Own the general ledger, month-end close, and accurate, timely financial reporting for U.S. and Mexico operations.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, bank reconciliations, and 13-week and 52-week cash flow analyses.
  • Oversee physical inventory accuracy, partnering with the Mexico team on counts, reconciliations, and issue resolution.
  • Review and consolidate cost accounting information prepared by the Mexico team for the CFO and private equity sponsor.
  • Lead accounting teams across both countries, including managers responsible for accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Oversee AP, AR, weekly and semi-monthly payroll, commissions, tax filings, and benefits-related accounting.
  • Coordinate tax return preparation, support external audits, and assist with liability and workers' compensation insurance renewals.
  • Strengthen accounting policies, internal controls, cross-training, and checks and balances.
  • Serve as the accounting department's NetSuite administrator and improve the system's effectiveness.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field and at least seven years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong GAAP knowledge and technical accounting skills, including financial reporting, inventory, and cost accounting principles.
  • Experience leading accounting teams and working effectively with operations and senior leadership.
  • Direct experience with physical inventory in a manufacturing or similarly inventory-intensive business.
  • The judgment, communication skills, and drive to lead through change in a lean, fast-moving environment.
  • Ability to work onsite in Irvine five days a week and travel to Mexicali for short visits approximately once a month.
  • An active CPA, public accounting background, private equity experience, manufacturing experience, NetSuite administration, cross-border accounting experience, and Spanish language skills are all valuable. Candidates do not need to bring every preferred qualification.
