• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Prepare and review financial statements and management reporting.
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and oversee balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage cash flow reporting, forecasting, and treasury activities.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, financial controls, and operating procedures.
• Provide financial reporting and analysis across multiple business units and entities.
• Support loan-level, fund-level, and operational financial reporting.
• Coordinate with external CPA firms, tax professionals, auditors, banking partners, and other financial service providers.
• Review commissions, compensation calculations, and other financial reporting as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve automation, efficiency, controls, and reporting accuracy.
• Support financial system implementations and process improvements.
• Provide executive leadership with timely financial analysis and decision support.
• Identify financial issues, reporting gaps, and operational risks before they become larger problems.

ZINC Financial is seeking an experienced Controller to take ownership of the company’s accounting, financial reporting, and financial operations.

This is not a role focused solely on closing the books and reporting historical results. We are looking for someone who understands the business behind the numbers, maintains a high standard for financial accuracy, and gives leadership the visibility needed to make sound decisions.

ZINC Financial operates across private lending, real estate, and related investment activities. As the company continues to grow and evolve, we are looking for a Controller who can strengthen our financial infrastructure, improve processes, maintain strong controls, and serve as a trusted financial resource to executive leadership.

The right person will be technically strong, highly accountable, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. They should be equally comfortable digging into the general ledger, improving a process, building a forecast, or explaining to leadership what the numbers are telling us.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
• Previous experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar accounting leadership role
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles
• Demonstrated experience managing month-end close and financial statement preparation
• Strong understanding of cash management, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls
• Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to translate financial information into clear business insights for senior leadership

Preferred Experience

Experience within private lending, mortgage lending, private credit, real estate, investment funds, or financial services is highly preferred.

CPA certification, public accounting experience, and experience working within a multi-entity organization are also strong advantages.

We are open to experienced Controllers as well as high-performing Assistant Controllers who are ready to step into a broader leadership role.
