Qualifications

• Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience building accounting infrastructure in entrepreneurial, founder-led, private equity-backed contexts.
• Demonstrated ability to create reporting packages and KPI frameworks.
• Experience with inventory accounting and data management is highly desirable.

Our valued client is a long-term holding company and breeding services platform consisting of two acquisitions to date and a third in process. They are actively integrating the businesses into a unified operating company. The organization provides customer support, inventory management, data management, and related services to a growing customer base within the life sciences and biotechnology sectors in the cattle industry.

The company estimated to grow by 30% per year. With over 50 employees and an entrepreneurial leadership team, the organization is entering a phase of growth and operational scaling. This is a unique opportunity for a hands on leader to help build the accounting and finance infrastructure of a growing platform while helping shape the next phase of the company's evolution.

Position Summary

This individual will be responsible for helping establish accounting standards, building scalable financial processes, improving reporting visibility, and creating the financial foundation necessary to support continued growth and future acquisitions.

This role is ideal for a professional who enjoys building systems, improving processes, and creating structure within an entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct accounting and financial operations for the organization.
• Help build scalable finance and accounting infrastructure to support future growth.
• Transition the companies from QuickBooks to a shared ERP system.
• Establish accounting policies, controls, procedures, and reporting standards.
• Improve reporting capabilities across multiple business units and operating functions.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
• Provide visibility into operational, financial, inventory, and customer-related metrics.
• Create executive dashboards and key performance indicator reporting packages to aid leadership in its decision-making process.
• Partner with leadership and owners to support strategic planning and decision-making.
• Support any acquisition integration efforts and standardize financial processes across newly acquired businesses.
• Develop relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, lenders, and other financial partners.

Desired Background

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience building accounting infrastructure within entrepreneurial, founder-led, private equity-backed
• Demonstrated experience creating reporting packages, and key performance indicator framework is a plus
• Inventory accounting experience preferred
• Experience supporting businesses with data management, customer support, logistics, technology-enabled services, distribution, biotechnology, life sciences, or related industries is highly desirable
• Experience standardizing processes across multiple business units is preferred
• Strong systems aptitude with experience utilizing accounting, reporting, and operational platforms preferred
• Experience with QuickBooks and other ERP's
