Job summary

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership in Controller/Accounting Manager roles.
• Experience with Sage ERP (Sage 100, Sage X3, Sage Intacct or similar) and manufacturing accounting.
• Thorough knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting functions: GL, A/P, A/R, payroll, fixed assets, and financial reporting.
• Oversee month-, quarter-, and year-end close processes for timely, accurate financial statements.
• Manage manufacturing accounting activities including inventory accounting, standard costing, cost analysis, and variance reporting.
• Develop, maintain, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and applicable regulations; coordinate audits and tax compliance.
• Prepare and present monthly financial packages and KPIs to executive leadership.
• Partner with operations and plant leadership to improve profitability and cost management.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning; manage cash flow forecasting and working capital initiatives.

CB Partners is partnering with a growing manufacturing organization in the Denver metro area to identify a strategic and hands‑on Controller. This leadership role will oversee all accounting and financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, operational efficiency, and business partnership across the organization. The Controller will play a critical role in supporting the company's growth initiatives while leading a high‑performing accounting team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and financial reporting.
• Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
• Manage manufacturing accounting activities, including inventory accounting, standard costing, cost analysis, variance reporting, and inventory controls.
• Develop, maintain, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Prepare and present monthly financial packages, KPIs, and operational analysis to executive leadership.
• Partner with operations and plant leadership to improve profitability, productivity, and cost management.
• Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Manage cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and working capital initiatives.
• Coordinate annual audits, tax compliance, and relationships with external auditors and advisors.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory valuation, labor efficiency, and production metrics to drive informed business decisions.
• Support ERP optimization, reporting enhancements, and process improvement initiatives.
• Serve as the accounting lead for acquisitions, integrations, and special projects as needed.
• Build, mentor, and develop accounting staff while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Provide strategic financial guidance to the leadership team to support organizational goals and growth objectives.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager leadership capacity.
• Experience managing inventory accounting, standard costing, and production‑related financial reporting.
• Thorough knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Demonstrated experience leading accounting teams and developing talent.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
• Excellent communication and business partnering skills.

Required Qualifications

• Experience with Sage ERP (Sage 100, Sage X3, Sage Intacct, or similar Sage platforms).
• Strong experience with internal financial controls, compliance, risk management, and audit support in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong background in manufacturing accounting and cost accounting.
