We are seeking a hands‑on Controller to help build and scale the finance and accounting function for a Dallas-based subsidiary of an established manufacturing organization. As the business continues to grow, this individual will play a critical role in developing the financial infrastructure, processes, and reporting capabilities necessary to support the division’s operational complexity and future growth.

This role is ideal for a finance and accounting leader with large-scale manufacturing experience who can operate at both a strategic and operational level. The Controller will oversee the division’s accounting and financial reporting while partnering closely with operational leadership to provide visibility into manufacturing performance, production costs, margins, and overall business results.

Beyond maintaining accurate financials, this individual will help establish scalable processes, strengthen internal controls, improve financial analysis, and build a finance and accounting function that can support the evolving needs of the business. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a growing environment, identifying opportunities for improvement, and taking ownership of initiatives that enhance financial and operational performance.

  • §Oversee month‑end and year‑end close, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, accruals, fixed assets, inventory accounting, and balance sheet integrity.
  • §Establish and improve accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, and financial reporting processes as the organization scales.
  • §Coordinate with corporate finance and accounting leadership to ensure alignment with enterprise standards, reporting deadlines, and compliance requirements.
  • §Manage external audit support and ensure appropriate documentation and controls are maintained across the division.
  • §Oversee manufacturing cost accounting, including standard costing, inventory valuation, labor and overhead absorption, and analysis of production costs.
  • §Analyze cost variances, material usage, labor efficiency, manufacturing overhead, scrap, and other operational drivers affecting profitability.
  • §Partner with plant, production, supply chain, and operations leadership to improve visibility into manufacturing performance and identify opportunities to enhance margins.
  • §Evaluate inventory accuracy, reserves, obsolescence, work‑in‑process, and related controls to ensure reliable financial reporting.
  • §Develop reporting and analytical tools that connect operational performance with financial outcomes.
  • §Partner with division leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and performance management.
  • §Provide meaningful analysis of revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, working capital, and other key financial and operational metrics.
  • §Translate financial results into actionable insights that support decision‑making, cost management, and operational efficiency.
  • §Support capital expenditure analysis, investment decisions, and return‑on‑investment evaluations.
Qualifications
  • §Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • §CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
  • §8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership responsibility in a manufacturing environment.
  • §Demonstrated experience in large‑scale manufacturing, with a strong understanding of manufacturing operations, cost structures, inventory, and production economics.
