Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Lead technical accounting matters, with focus on ASC 606 revenue recognition and ASC 842 lease accounting.
• Oversee general ledger, reconciliations, accruals, financial statements, and related accounting operations.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, internal controls, and scalable processes.
• Partner with executive leadership on financial reporting, analysis, and strategic initiatives.
• Coordinate annual audits and serve as primary point of contact for external auditors.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and other FP&A initiatives with leadership.
• Drive improvements to accounting systems, reporting, and automation as the organization grows.
• Lead and develop members of the accounting team.

Lighthouse Search is partnering with a growing SaaS company in Austin to add a Controller to its finance leadership team.

This is a hands-on leadership role with ownership across the company’s accounting function, including close, financial reporting, revenue recognition, technical accounting, controls, and ongoing process improvement. The Controller will work closely with senior leadership as the business continues to scale and will play an important role in building out accounting processes and infrastructure to support that growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
• Lead technical accounting matters, with a particular focus on ASC 606 revenue recognition and ASC 842 lease accounting
• Oversee general ledger, reconciliations, accruals, financial statements, and related accounting operations
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, internal controls, and scalable processes
• Partner with executive leadership on financial reporting, analysis, and strategic initiatives
• Coordinate annual audits and serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors

Qualifications

• Strong accounting leadership experience, ideally within a SaaS or recurring-revenue environment
• Hands-on knowledge of ASC 606 and ASC 842
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience managing month-end close and audit processes
• Ability to operate effectively in a growing, fast-paced organization
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA preferred
• Big 4 public accounting experience a plus
