LHH is partnering with a growing consumer products organization in Austin to identify a hands-on Controller who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and enjoys being deeply involved in the day-to-day accounting function.

This opportunity is ideal for either an experienced Controller seeking a high-impact role within a lean team or a Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager ready to take the next step into accounting leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
• Prepare and review financial statements and management reporting packages
• Maintain the general ledger and oversee the integrity of all accounting records
• Manage journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end accounting activities
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting
• Partner with leadership to provide financial insights and decision-making support
• Coordinate audit and tax-related activities with external partners
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
• Oversee AP processes while serving as the primary accounting lead for the organization

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including month-end close ownership
• Prior Controller experience preferred, but strong Senior Accountants or Accounting Managers will be considered
• Experience preparing financial statements and managing general ledger accounting
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices
• Ability to work independently and wear multiple hats in a small-team environment
• CPA or CPA-track candidates are highly preferred
