Job summary

AppleOne Employment Services is seeking an experienced Controller for a direct-hire opportunity in Anaheim, CA, near Angel Stadium. This hands-on leader will balance daily accounting operations with financial reporting, internal controls, and strategic financial support.

You will oversee AP/AR, GL, month-end close, and ensure robust controls, while monitoring cash flow, budgets, and variances to enable leadership decision-making.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of accounting, finance, or financial management experience.
• Prior Controller or senior-level accounting leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and internal controls.
• Experience overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end and year-end close.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, cash flow reports, and other financial reporting deliverables.
• Develop, maintain, and improve internal controls, accounting policies, procedures, and reporting processes.
• Monitor cash flow, budgets, expenses, financial performance, and variances to support leadership decision-making.
• Coordinate audits, tax preparation, and compliance activities in accordance with applicable accounting standards and regulations.
• Supervise, mentor, and support accounting staff while managing deadlines, priorities, and confidential financial information.

• Hands-on leadership style with the ability to mentor accounting staff and collaborate across departments.
