Job summary

TMEIC Corporation Americas in Roanoke, VA is seeking a student or early-career engineer to provide software design support for control solutions and drafting and hardware design support for electrical distribution and control solutions projects.

The role includes developing software modules and HMI, performing simulations, and maintaining project documentation, as well as CAD-based electrical drawings and panel layouts. Some travel (~5%) may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Enrollment in BS in EE/CS/CE/ME with control automation coursework.
• Courses/projects in control theory, software development, programming, database design, robotics or electrical power systems.
• Demonstrated problem solving skills.
• Demonstrated teamwork and communication skills.
• Visa sponsorship not available.
• Relocation/housing not provided.
• This is not a benefits-eligible position.
• Willingness to travel up to ~5%.

Responsibilities

• Gather information to assess project requirements for assigned scope.
• Create software modules and document them to meet control functionality.
• Develop and animate HMI software to meet project targets.
• Conduct simulations to verify software and HMI against requirements.
• Suggest improvements to testing procedures and documentation.
• Provide regular status reports to stakeholders.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering program with control automation coursework
