Job summary

TIGA, a Tetra Tech Company, is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to design and develop control and automation solutions for gas distribution and water treatment projects in the Dallas area. You will analyze requirements, design architectures, and program PIL controllers, PLCs, and HMI/SCADA systems for robust, compliant operation.

Applicants should have 5–10 years in control systems, experience with PIL-based systems, PLCs (Allen Bradley), and SCADA, plus strong teamwork and communications

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline.
• 5-10 years in a role as Control Systems Engineer or equivalent oil and gas experience.
• Experience in PIL, Gas, and/or Municipal Water.
• Solid understanding of PIL-based systems, PLCs (e.g. Allen Bradley), and HMI/SCADA platforms.
• Experience with flow control, pressure monitoring, and level sensing.
• Experience with remote telemetry units (RTUs) and SCADA integration for distributed gas and water systems.
• Understanding of cybersecurity best practices in critical infrastructure control systems.
• Must be detail-oriented, result-driven, and able to organize workloads to meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop control and automation systems for gas distribution and water treatment processes.
• Analyze system requirements and design control system architecture.
• Program, test, and maintain PIL controllers, PLCs, and SCADA systems.
• Optimize control strategies for pressure regulation, flow balancing, and level control.
• Integrate sensors, actuators, flow meters, and analyzers in gas and water systems.
• Ensure system compliance with local codes, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
• Develop and maintain detailed records of system designs, modifications, and performance evaluations.
• Support maintenance and upgrade of existing control systems for municipal water plants and gas stations.
• Conduct tests to ensure systems function correctly and diagnose issues as they arise.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to integrate control systems into larger projects.
