Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services Limited in Columbus, IN is seeking an Engineer to design and implement Rockwell Automation ControlLogix based control systems. The role requires expertise in motion, ladder logic, safety programming, and Rockwell Studio 5000/HMI (FactoryTalk View Studio). Knowledge of Siemens Step 7 and vision/robotic systems is desirable.

Salary range $100,000–$125,000 per year. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and strong collaboration

Qualifications

• Experience in Rockwell Automation ControlLogix system design with motion, ladder logic, and safety programming.
• Proficiency in Rockwell Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk View Studio.
• Familiarity with PLC hardware, communication protocols, and machine safety systems.
• Experience with robotic and vision systems preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

Responsibilities

• Develops and designs control systems; develops and implements bench tests; alters software and equipment to ensure that sensors and actuators are functioning according to specifications; supports and debugs complex problems and change requests.
• Responsible for the installation and technical support of PLC based hardware and software. Coaches and mentors less experienced controls engineers.
• Support control activities for plant transformations; collaborate with other engineering disciplines; drive programming, network, architecture, hardware and documentation standards for new equipment; PLC, HMI and MES programming changes; production support.

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills

• Rockwell Automation ControlLogix system design experience, including motion, ladder logic, and safety programming experience.
• Siemens Step 7 or other PLC version experience is desired.
• Function block and structured text programming is desired but not required.
• Must be proficient in Rockwell Software PLC Programming, Studio 5000.
• Must be proficient in Rockwell Software HMI Programming, FactoryTalk View Studio.
• Must understand PLC Hardware and Communication Protocols.
• Machine Safety Systems
• Knowledge of following would be preferred:
  • Robotic Systems: Fanuc and Nachi
  • Vision Systems: Cognex, Keyence and Coherix
  • Fanuc PMC ladder in CNC equipment

Roles & Responsibilities

• Develops and designs control systems; develops and implements bench tests; alters software and equipment to ensure that sensors and actuators are functioning according to specifications; supports and debugs complex problems and change requests.
• Responsible for the installation and technical support of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) based hardware and software. Coaches and mentors are less experienced Controls Engineers
• Support Control activities for RMEP, CEP and CMEP Plant transformation in the Assembly, and or Machining areas as needed. This will include:
  • Collaborating with other engineering disciplines in the plant to develop and improve processes and equipment in the plant.
  • Work with equipment suppliers and drive programming, network, architecture, hardware and documentation standards for new equipment.
  • PLC, HMI and MES Programming Changes
  • Production support as needed.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $125,000 per year
