Job summary

The Nature Conservancy seeks a Contracts Manager to lead the Northeast Division's contract management, ensuring development, review, execution, monitoring, and closeout of agreements in line with policy and risk controls.

In this role you will work with Legal, Finance, Grants, Operations, and program staff to optimize contracting processes, manage complex agreements, and strengthen organizational compliance and service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Leads contract management across the Northeast Division, coordinating workloads and ensuring compliant support.
• Oversees the Division’s contract portfolio, identifying risks and advising on adjustments.
• Acts as SME and escalation point for complex contracting matters and policy compliance.
• Evaluates risks and recommends mitigation, escalating to leaders when needed.
• Partners with Legal, Finance, Grants, Ops, and programs to resolve issues and support objectives.
• Supervises and develops staff, builds capacity, and fosters collaboration and service quality.
• Leads development and implementation of processes, tools, and standards to improve compliance and operations.
• Uses independent judgment to resolve contract issues balancing organizational needs with legal and financial risk.
