Responsibilities

  • Lead full lifecycle of U.S. government and commercial contracts.
  • Interface with government contracting officers, primes, and customers on complex matters.
  • Direct negotiations and execution of long-term and confidential agreements.
  • Advise leadership on contract strategy, obligations and risk.
  • Review solicitations for key requirements and deliverables.
  • Partner with finance, legal, and programs on pricing and strategy.
  • Oversee prime contracts, subcontracts, and commercial agreements.
  • Ensure policy/regulatory compliance and maintain documentation.
  • Drive contract governance and process improvements.
  • Mentor and develop contracts staff.

Job Description

At Teledyne FLIR OEM, you will lead the contracts function supporting advanced technologies for aerospace, defense, and high-performance commercial applications. As Director of Contracts, you will shape contract strategy, drive compliance, and partner with executive leadership to enable business growth while minimizing risk. This is a high-impact leadership role where you will build strong cross-functional relationships and develop a high-performing contracts team.

What you’ll do
  • Lead the full lifecycle of U.S. government and commercial contracts, from proposal through closeout
  • Serve as the senior contractual interface with U.S. Government contracting officers, prime contractors, and commercial customers on complex or high-risk matters.
  • Direct negotiations and execution of complex agreements, including long-term and confidentiality agreements
  • Advise executive leadership on contractual strategy, obligations, and risk mitigation
  • Review solicitations to identify key requirements, risks, and deliverables
  • Partner with finance, legal, and program teams on pricing and contract strategy
  • Oversee administration of prime contracts, subcontracts, and commercial agreements
  • Ensure compliance with internal policy and regulatory requirements
  • Support audits and maintain contract documentation and reporting
  • Drive process improvements, standardization, and contract governance
  • Lead, mentor, and develop contracts staff
  • What you need
    • Strong leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills
    • Demonstrated business acumen with experience in developing innovative solutions and a successful record of problem-solving.
    • Ability to interact effectively with customers, Corporate and business unit management, and functional counterparts in a professional manner.
    • Absolute commitment to performing job in compliance with the highest ethical standards.
    • Knowledge of FAR and DFARS compliance
    • Extensive experience managing complex government and commercial contracts and teams
    • 10+ years of contracts experience, including government contracting
    • Experience with enterprise resource planning systems
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field – required (Master’s a plus)

    Salary Range:

    $150,400.00-$200,500.000
