Job summary

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas seeks a Contracts Counsel to provide advanced legal services to the administration, especially the Department of Purchasing and Contracts. You will draft and negotiate complex contracts, develop standard templates, and support bids and solicitations to ensure compliance with laws and university policies.

Qualifications

• JD from ABA-accredited law school; admission to practice in any jurisdiction.
• Minimum of three years contractual and transactional experience as a licensed attorney.
• State Bar of Nevada license within 12 months of employment; NP certs not accepted.

Responsibilities

• Draft, develop and negotiate complex purchasing contracts, including construction contracts.
• Create and maintain templates for standard contracts, RFx, and supplier forms.
• Support bids, solicitations, and self-help contracting content; ensure policy compliance.
• Develop content and templates for procurement workflows; ensure compliance with state and federal laws and university requirements.
