Job summary

UNLV's Office of General Counsel seeks a Contracts Counsel to provide complex legal services to the University administration, especially the Department of Purchasing and Contracts. The role involves drafting, developing and negotiating sophisticated procurement contracts, and creating contract templates and related content.

The ideal candidate has a Juris Doctor and at least three years of contracting experience, with Nevada bar admission within 12 months.

Qualifications

Requires Juris Doctor from ABA-accredited school.
Minimum of three years contractual and transactional experience as a licensed attorney.
Licensed to practice law in Nevada within 12 months of employment; State Bar of Nevada membership.
Must be available to travel occasionally and to work weekends/evenings.
No visa sponsorship is provided.

Responsibilities

Draft, develop and negotiate complex purchasing related contracts for the campus, including construction contracts.
Draft and maintain templates for standard contracts, RFPs/RFQs, and supplier forms.
Assist Purchasing and Contracts with bid content and solicitations.
Develop and maintain templates, forms and content for self-help contracting web page.
Contribute to policies and procedures to ensure efficient procurement operations and compliance with laws.
