Job summary

University at Buffalo is seeking an Associate Campus Counsel - Contracts to join SUNY's Office of General Counsel and serve the Buffalo regional office. The attorney will advise UB on complex transactional contracts, procurement, construction, real estate, and partnership agreements.

You will draft, review, negotiate, and finalize agreements, cover real estate instruments, licensing, technology transfer, and MOUs, and coordinate with a statewide team of more than 70 attorneys, paralegals, and

Responsibilities

Advise the university on transactional and business matters, including complex commercial contracts and procurement of goods and services.
Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize agreements such as revenue-generating contracts, affiliation agreements, and research-related agreements.
Handle real estate and land use instruments, technology transfer and licensing arrangements, and memoranda of understanding.
Work on construction-related and contractor agreements and licensing and partnership agreements.
Cover legal matters for the University at Buffalo Foundation and other affiliated or auxiliary organizations.
Exercise significant independent judgment while coordinating with OGC attorneys at System Administration and other campuses.
Take part in OGC's Contracts Practice Group meetings, trainings, and initiatives.
Support matters outside the primary portfolio as needed, across areas such as health care, research, labor and employment, and regulatory compliance.
Report within the Senior Vice Chancellor for Legal Affairs and General Counsel's office, which serves SUNY's Board of Trustees, Chancellor, and campus presidents.
