Job summary

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for a Contracts Counsel who will provide complex professional legal services to the administration, especially the Department of Purchasing and Contracts. The role involves drafting, developing and negotiating purchasing contracts, including construction contracts, and maintaining templates and bid content.

Qualifications

• ABA‑accredited law degree and admission to practice law.
• Minimum of three years contractual/transactional experience as a licensed attorney.
• Licensed to practice law and current or prospective member of the State Bar of Nevada within twelve months of employment.
• Limited Practice certifications under Nevada Supreme Court Rule 49.1 will not be accepted.
• Must be available to travel occasionally and to work weekends/evenings, as required.

Responsibilities

• Draft, develop and negotiate complex purchasing related contracts, including construction contracts.
• Draft and maintain templates for standard contracts, RFPs/RFQs, solicitations, supplier forms and related documents.
• Provide content for bids and solicitations and develop content for self‑help contracting web page.
