Job summary

The City of New York's Department of Sanitation (DSNY) seeks a Contracts and Compliance Manager to join the Bureau of Commercial Waste. You will oversee the Contracts and Compliance Unit handling dozens of CWZ contracts with private haulers, ensuring compliance, safety, and service standards.

Reporting to the Deputy Director, you will lead analysts, drive reviews, train awardees, and collaborate with IT, Legal and Enforcement to deliver regular reports and advance the CWZ program.

Qualifications

• Master's degree and at least 2 years supervisory experience in budget or contract management.
• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years professional experience including supervisory roles.
• Experience in contract management, procurement, auditing or investigations with increasing responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Oversee CWZ contracts from review through compliance analysis and reporting.
• Identify and remediate violations of city rules and contract terms by CWZ awardees.
• Train CWZ awardees and staff in compliance and data processes.
• Collaborate with IT, Legal and Enforcement on data and compliance workflows.
• Produce regular status reports for management, City Council, and the public.
• Coordinate with BCW Executive staff to implement CWZ program improvements.
