Job summary

The New York City Department of Sanitation (DSNY) seeks a senior program manager to oversee contract management, operations, compliance, and facility maintenance for the citys CWZ initiative.

You will lead a team, develop program documentation, and advance organics processing projects to reduce waste exports, while coordinating with other city bureaus. NYC residency is advised for appointment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in economics or related field with 18 months in supervisory role.
• Bachelor’s degree with four years of professional experience in relevant areas.
• Experience with budget administration, financial management or program evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing a team responsible for contract management, operations, compliance and facility maintenance
• Providing a leadership role for this program that is expected to undergo continued growth
• Creating and maintaining program documentation, schedules, presentations, and status reports.
• Assisting with improvements in the organics program to enable the city to decrease expenses on exporting waste.
• Assisting with implementation of citywide organics program and lead high‑profile projects
• Providing support to increase compost distribution and revenue opportunities for third‑party bagging
• Support for other Bureau functions; may require evening or weekend work
